Pottery Barn Duvet

I bought this duvet a while back and never got around to using it.

It is the Pottery Barn Audry Organic Duvet Cover, for a King.  I figured I would post it on here and see if anyone was interested.  I'm selling it for $80 (retails for $150), and this size duvet is no longer available on Pottery Barn's website.  The print is gorgeous in person.

I got it slightly discounted, because there is a small 1" tear in the top right-hand corner of the backside of the duvet.  It's from a box-cutter that opening up the box when it was shipped to the store.  I have neatly patched it and it is barely visible.
(seriously.  After I patched it, it took me a while to find it again later when I took the up close picture)

Shoot me over an email if you're interested!

Oscar does it again

Did you see Lea Michele's dress at the Golden Globes?  It was to die for.  I was not surprised to find it was by Oscar de la Renta.

love the dress color, love the asymmetry of the dress, love the fabric, love the hair, love the turquoise ring.  I even like the fact that the ring is on her pointer finger!

ruffles on the brain

My friend Mara knows I am working on my shower curtain, and showed me this gorgeous duvet.  It went right onto my wishlist.  At the rate that the ruffles on this curtain are taking me, I might need a little break from sewing them.  That would make this duvet worth every penny.

Of course I want it in ivory or gray.... but the plum color is breathtaking too!

Window Envy

Have you seen the new Anthropologie window displays?  This makes me want to quit sewing clothes with fabric and just bust out some clothespins.  Seriously breathtaking.

Homemade Gifts

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and that you have had a fabulous start to the new year.  We had a great time hanging out with family, opening gifts, and admiring my moms beautiful tree.

I made most of my gifts this year, and it made it so much more fun to see my family's reactions when they opened their gifts.  I just think handmade gifts add a little something extra.

aprons for 2 of my sisters-in-law

circle skirts for my nieces

a skirt for my sister-in-law

and I made a pinwheel skirt for my mom

I was going to try and take a little more profesh pics of everything I made, but never was able to get around to it.  I might need to make my sister-in-law model her skirt for me though!

I am muy happy about one of my gifts..

I have wanted a ruffle foot for a while now, and am so excited to start using it!  The brand of the foot is Janome, same as my sewing machine.  It says that it works with any machine that uses snap in foots though.  I'm pretty sure my sister-in-law got it at Joann's.  It is going to make sewing my shower curtain a whole lot easier.

(have I said "sister-in-law" enough in this post?  Because I have 8 of them!)

Honeysuckle

I was super excited to hear the the new Pantone 2011 color of the year is Honeysuckle!  I am a big fan of how cheery and feminine this color is.  I can't wait to start accessorizing my home and wardrobe with it!

Want to know the thing that makes me the most happy?  I used this exact color for the fabric on my new version of the Pinwheel Skirt for Sew News Magazine!  I really wish I could show you a sneak peak of it.  But you will just have to wait till spring!
