currently

I have a lot of sewing projects on my to do list.  I just finished up all the bedding, curtains, and pillows in the boys room (pictures coming soon).  Now I am working on my dress for my brother-in-laws upcoming wedding.  Here is a little sneak peek....

(no I will not be wearing a white lace dress to a wedding.  I am venturing into the world of dyeing.  I think Rit and I are going to become fast friends.)

  3. Ah... English grammar! As an English teacher, I couldn't help but be confused as I read this. I think you mean you are venturing into the world of DYEing, not dying (as in you are preparing for your death).

Since I now know what you meant, I can't wait to see the finished product! :) Love lace.

  5. You will become ADDICTED to dying. There is something so satisfying about creating your own color exactly how you like it. Good luck. Can't wait to see how it turns out. One thing I like to do is add a little vinegar. It doesn't call for it but I find it helps the dye stick (like dying Easter eggs).

  6. I absolutely LOVE lace dresses, but I am completely afraid of sewing with lace because I am afraid it will unravel. Do you have any tips/suggestions? j(dot)free112(at)gmail(dot)com

    1. Jennifer- The lace I have is stretchy, so I don't have to worry about it unraveling too much. But I am serging all of my seams. That will keep the ends from unraveling.

  7. This is gorgeous! I just made a lace top with a similar pattern and I seriously LOVE it. And I agree with Jessica that dying fabric is super addicting--our grocery store just deeply discounted half of their dye supply and I scooped most of it up haha. It's sooooo satisfying and delightfully messy :)
