tangerine lace

I posted a while back that I was working on a lace dress for my brother-in-law's wedding.  Here was my inspiration for the dress:

It turned out just as I was envisioning, with a little trial and error along the way.  Rit dye became my bff.  More on that little love affair later...

 This is my favorite salsa.  hands down.  I made if for a Relief Society meeting, and had to keep myself from eating the entire bowl myself.  It has the perfect combination of sweet, with a little kick.  Plus it calls for cilantro and avocado.  Can't go wrong there.  

I split the leftovers I had with my friend Ashley.  We both sat in our houses that night with firm grips on our tupperware bowls devouring that salsa like ravaging beasts, while we texted each other about how full we were but just couldn't. stop. eating.

Serve it with some hint of lime chips and it's pure heaven. 

I doubled the recipe

Avocado Black Bean Salsa

Combine the folllowing ingredients in order:

2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed

1 large can diced tomatoes, drained

1 can white shoepeg corn, drained (green giant brand)

1/2 red onion finely chopped

1 bunch fresh cilantro finely chopped

Juice from 2-3 limes

4-5 ripe avocados diced

1 clove garlic, minced

1 package Good Seasons Italian Dressing made according to the package directions

1/2 cup sugar

Serves 8-10

Serve with Lime or Jalepeno flavor tortilla chips

After much consideration, research, and encouragement from many of my amazing readers, I have decided to move forward with my clothing line.  I love being able to sell my cardigans, but would like to be able to have more of my pieces available for sale.  I realized a while back that I don't have the time I would need to devote to sewing everything myself, and have decided to move forward with manufacturing my clothing!  This is a very exciting time, and also a little scary.  While I would like to launch an entire line all at once, I have decided to take things a little more slowly and start out with a few pieces at a time.  

With that said, I need your help!!  I want to know what items you are most interested in!  Your opinions are very important to me and I would greatly appreciate your feedback as I decide on styles/color options for my clothing line.

Big apologies for the absence on my blog lately.  I've been going a mile a minute and haven't had a spare moment to update.  My husband just got back from a 6 week internship in DC (GLORY HALLELUJAH.  My hats off to every single-mom out there.  That was hard. )  So we have been enjoying our time together this week and packing frantically because we are moving to California for another summer internship tomorrow.  Happy Friday everyone!

So....I have a million posts in my mind that I want to do.  And a million things I want to sew.  And a million items on my to do list.  But to be honest, being a mother is exhausting enough.  Sometimes I need to tell myself that I am not some superwoman that can check off every item on my list.  Sometimes its ok to just hang out in my workout clothes all day (without ever actually working out.....that counts in my book).  And today is one of those days.  Today...getting dressed is not even going to get checked off the list.  And that is totally fine with me.
